My hand carved Isle of Lewis chess set is the replica of the medieval chess set discovered in 1831 by the simple shepherd. Authentic Isle of Lewis Chess Set was probably made in Norway, about AD 1150- 1200 and turned to be an important symbol of European civilization. The Isle of Lewis chessmen were featured in the movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
This chess set still remains the oldest complete set of chessmen ever found!
For making my wooden chess pieces I use a walnut tree, white maple and sycamore which have very beautiful royal color and well known for their heaviness and solid wood structure.

The Queen 3 inches (7,5 cm)
Knight 2,5 inches (7 cm)
Pawn 2 inches (5 cm)
Diameter: 2 inches (4,5 cm)
