For making my wooden chess pieces I use a walnut tree, white maple and sycamore which have very beautiful royal color and well known for their heaviness and solid wood structure.
You can choose any color of your custom made chess set!
Also you can choose the size of the chess pieces exactly for try chess board:
Small - 0,87" (2.2 cm diameter). King's height - 2.9" (7.2 cm)
Large - 1.2" (3 cm diameter). King's height - 4.3" (11 cm)
