Folk doll is one of the most ancient handmade household item used in Ukrainian culture.

Motanka doll talisman is made of only cotton clothes. Such type of Ukrainian handmade dolls were believed to be a special helper in the fight against illness. The doll was used as a kind of treatement with prayers. Ancient Slavs used to believe that cotton helped people to leave their bed thanks to its curative properties. That’s why this Ukrainian doll is called “In good health”.
