Traditional motanka doll is made of natural flax and cotton materials and adorned with lace and Ukrainian embroidery pattern carrying on ancient embroidery traditions. Motanka holds a hand crocheted chicken decoration that means prosperity. Her face is traditionally adorned with the symbol of the Sun, life, fertile earth and wealth. In ancient times, this symbol was very important and was widely represented on traditional Ukrainian clothes such as vyshyvanka.
